Dave Campbell, was the former director of the General Butler Vagabonds from 1996-2001 and took the corps to their first ever finalist spot in the Drum Corps International Division III Championship in addition to securing the coveted “Disney Spirit Award” in 1998. Dave went on to serve as program coordinator for the Pioneer Drum Corps from Milwaukee, WI for the 2002 and 2003 seasons. He is a former WGI percussion adjudicator and has also judged for: Drum Corps International, Drum Corps Associates. The Mid East Judges Association and the Pennsylvania Federation of Contest Judges. Dave received his B.S. in music education from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh where he studied with PAS Hall of Fame timpanist Stanley Leonard and Gerald Unger of the Pittsburgh Symphony. He also taught the Steel City Ambassadors and Golden Lancers drum corps, both located in the Pittsburgh area.

Alan Fear will be heading up the front ensemble. Alan has a degree in Music Therapy from Duquesne University and is working towards a music education certification at Carnegie Mellon University. Alan has worked with over 20 area high school percussion programs including Kiski High School. He was a member of the General Butler Vagabonds and the Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps.
Mike Ebbitt was a member of both the Elizabeth Forward Marching band, and the Belle Vernon Area Marching band. Mike Marched with multiple WGI groups including Conquest Percussion in 2002, Project Percussion: 2003 through 2005, and Rhythm X in 2006 and 2007. Lastly Mike was also a member of the Bluecoats snareline from 2004 through 2006.
2012 will mark Jesse's thirteenth season in the indoor percussion activity. He has performed throughout North America and Europe with drum corps and indoor percussion ensembles such as The Glassmen, Matrix, Capital Regiment, and Project Percussion. As an instructor and designer, Jesse has worked with several programs in Western Pennsylvania, including North Allegheny, Kiski Area, Moon Area,Trinity, Penn-Trafford Indoor, and the University of Pittsburgh Marching Band, among others.
He is currently the Percussion Director at North Allegheny High School, 2010 TRWEA Percussion Champion and three-time WGI Regional Finalist. Jesse holds a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts from the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. He lives in Squirrel Hill.
Evan holds a B.A. in Music from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, where he studied percussion under Dr. David Glover and Nathan Douds. He is currently on staff with Kiski Area High School, the North Allegheny High School Indoor Percussion Ensemble, and the Slippery Rock University Marching Pride. In addition to these groups, Evan also serves as an electronics/audio consultant for other area marching ensembles, doing everything from sampling to designing complete sound reinforcement systems specifically geared towards the marching activity. Outside of the marching activity, he remains an active freelance musician, specializing in drumset. Evan currently resides in Valencia, PA and is employed as one of two Percussion Specialists for Volkwein’s Music.
Deanne Heller, Assistant Director/Front Ensemble Technician
Deanne has been teaching for over 10 years throughout Western Pennsylvania and Maryland. Currently, she teaches at Trinity High School and West Allegheny High School. She has performed with the General Butler Vagabonds Drum and Bugle Corps and Conquest Indoor Percussion Ensemble and has played in the orchestra pit for Pittsburgh Musical Theater and the Pittsburgh Savoyards. She is a graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory with a degree in Arts Management with a concentration in percussion performance. She also holds a Master’s degree of Nonprofit Management from the University of Central Florida. Deanne serves on the management committee for the Three Rivers Winter Ensemble Association (TRWEA) and is also a board member of Steel City Ambassadors. During the day, she works as a fundraiser for the American Red Cross.
